latest info

On sat 15th, there were two visits from brevard county sheriffs dept. Both times consisted of one officer driving to parking lot #13, walking to the top of the crossover, viewing no one nude and returning to his beat 30 + miles away. I think the brevard county taxpayer would be pissed off if they really knew how the sheriff chooses to spend $$$. The NPS ranger that some refer to as mini me came out to crossover 13 and took pictures of the sunbathers north just before the afternoon visit, I guess to show the deputy that when he's not there, nude sunbathers are. Hopefully the sheriff will see through this latest attempt by the National Park Service to rid nude recreation from the seashore, and tell the NPS to do it on their own powers, finances, etc and leave him alone. Smart move on his part for re-election next time around.

My wife and I just started going here. We enter thru 13 and usually go about 200 to 250 feet to the left before we set up and get nude. Are we in danger of the Sheriffs there? Should we go further up the beach? Is this a nude area? Should we find some other place to go? We plan on going 2 to 3 times a week....HELP let us know what to do...

My question is I went on a Wednesday and there was only 1 other lady there besides me with about 20 guys. Is there a day with a higher female count? I am attending college here now and haven't found any other beaches around. Are there any other beaches that are as good?

TO THE COUPLE GOING NORTH OF CROSSOVER 13.
You are going to the recogonized area of the beach where the NPS has previously outlined in a memo dated 1995. I would not venture too far north because it is a PERMITTED AREA ONLY, plus with no restrooms or access on and off the beach is a hassle, besides part of their claim of dune damage by nude visitors. Sorry for the latest inconvience by the BCSO, but they will go away and it will be peaceful once again. Please continue to visit and stay tune to the beach. There will be people looking out and keeping others informed to the situation most days there so look for them. Thanks

TO THE WEDNESDAY VISITOR.
The beach is an ever changing thing for visitors. I have been there on a wednesday in the past and met couples with children from europe. Then I've been there on another wednesday and my wife and I were it on the beach. Weekends are always reliable for a good mixture of people. Maybe see you there.

Was at the beach today near the 13 boardwalk. About 8 or so of us in our group and about 30 more around. Two workers on quads went down the beach away from 12 further into 13. About 20 minutes later they came back, stopped at the 13 boardwalk, the guy made a call on a radio. BINGO, right around 12:05, female Ranger meets them and then they stood there talking for a while. Didn't see any camera but still they were pains in the a#@.

I see there have been no posts here in 2008. That is curious.
Today, Feb 20, 2008 I went to Playalinda for the first time. I walked well past other nude bathers, and well past the closed walkway. After an hour of sunning and walking back and forth to the water, I dressed and started walking back. At the closed walkway, A short female ranger intercepted me and proceeded to warn me that my 'behavior' was 'borderline' and kept asking "do you understand what I'm telling you?" Actually, I didn't but was never able to vocalize a question and recieve an intelligible answer. Who the heck is this woman? Is she the one refered to in other blogs as mini me? The real question is, how far do you have to go to escape the morality voyeurs?

unfortunately not much info on Playalinda in '08. Gf and I were there 9-12-07 and 9-14-07, for the first time, was the nicest beach we have been on, hoping to return late April. Ironic that problems were noted on blogs dated the day after we left, we encountered no problems or issues whatsoever. Hoping recent silence on the beach means everything is smooth sailing !
